I have always wanted to check it out but the prices are normally too high. This Saturday it was half price so how could you go wrong?
The place is really old but has a lot of history behind it. It is 35 acres of beautiful property in the middle of an over built Ft. Lauderdale.
But in 1925 Helen died from breast cancer.
They returned every winter until Frederick died in 1953. Evelyn continued to stay in the house until she was no longer able to travel in 1993.
Before she died in 1997 Evelyn gave the Bonnet House to the Florida Trust of Preservation.
There are 11 Costa Rican squirrel monkey still on the property and we were told 4 of them are pregnant. Hopefully they will continue to run the place...
